Fundraising is a great way of helping you cover the costs of About FACE while letting other people know that you are involved in the program. Here are a few ideas of ways to help you fund your participation in About FACE…
Church sponsorship: About FACE aims to be an experience that is shared with partipant’s home congregations, youth groups or communities. In this way they also benefit from your experience and can have their own kind of ‘about face’. In the past congregations have helped participants with covering costs- why not approach your congregation to consider sponsoring some of the costs of your attendance?- About FACE fund: This plan is to get friends, family, colleagues or your congregation to commit to giving you a certain amount of money each week. 10 people giving you $10 a week equals $400 a month or $1200 in 3 months. A variation of this is asking people to contribute a one-off amount to your AboutFACE fund.
- Local community sponsorship: Similarly, local community businesses and associations can be approached for sponsorship. This donation could be considered part of their corporate social responsibility program.
- Host a dinner or food stall: Why not let your inner Masterchef loose and host a dinner for your congregation or family and friends. Charge a set price for your meal or let your ‘customers’ decide how much they pay. This is also a good opportunity for you to explain the program.
